Albatross (Double Eagle)
A score of three strokes under par, one of the rarest feats in golf.
The British named it after a very large, rare seabird, since scoring three under is just as rare. Americans call it a "double eagle" instead, a split that stuck after Gene Sarazen's famous albatross at the 1935 Masters. Both terms are still used today, with albatross more common in the UK and Europe.
