Irons & Approach

Contact and direction issues with irons and approach shots from the fairway or rough.

Select an issue

Slice

The shot starts near your target line, then bends hard right and comes up short of the green.

Hook

The shot starts near your target line, then curves sharply to the left, often diving quickly into trouble.

Push (starts and stays right)

The shot flies straight, with no curve, but it starts right of your target and stays there.

Pull (starts and stays left)

The shot flies straight with no curve, but it starts left of target and stays on that line.

Fat Shot / Chunk

The club digs into the ground before the ball, losing speed and distance, often taking a deep divot behind the ball.

Thin / Skulled Shot

A low, screaming line-drive that comes off the leading edge and flies much further along the ground than intended.

Shank

The ball shoots sharply and low to the right, hit off the hosel instead of the clubface.

Weak / Short Shots

Contact feels okay, but the ball consistently comes up short of its normal distance for that club.
